sUNDAY 12 JULY 2026
Join us at our Summer Term Community Orchestra Day!

Venue - Buxton Community School, SK17 9EA
Time - 10am-3.30pm, with a short performance at 3pm. Participants should arrive between 10am and 10.15am to sign in.
What to expect - A full day workshop, led by our experienced music directors, working on music from Stravinsky’s epic Firebird Suite in a day, as part of the Buxton Fringe Festival! We will finish the day with a short performance. There will also be tea/coffee and cake!

Who can join in? This event is for adults and children, playing at Grade 4 standard or above. It's a great chance for parents to play alongside their children, but we'd also love other local musicians to join us.
Cost - Free for children. For Adults, a small suggested charitable donation of £10 per person would be greatly appreciated to cover the costs of the day. A donation link will be provided for participants who have received an email confirming their place on the day.
Not a musician but want to get involved? We would love donations of cakes to sell at break times on the day. All funds raised will help us cover the cost of the event. If you are able to bring something, please pass it to our team as you arrive. Helpers to serve refreshments are always appreciated!
What to bring - Don't forget your instrument and a packed lunch. A pencil may be handy too. Tea, coffee and cake will be available to buy at break times (squash will be provided for children free of charge). Stands and music will be there for you on the day.
Performance - Please feel free to invite your friends and family to join us at 3pm for a short performance.
